G.O.O.D. Music Family: Kanye Pushed for Perfection

ISH KNOWS…this is a MUST WATCH for all artists out there regardless of genre. Peep when they discuss the studio environment that Kanye creates. One where no electronics are allowed; essentially a boot camp. But, they all agree that it creates an amazing focus that led to great music & not paying attention to any distractions or white noise.

G.O.O.D. Music - Funkmaster Flex Freestyle

ISH KNOWS…this shit is straight heat!  Ah man, so I was going to post a couple hot bars, but, real talk, there’s just too many.  You have to listen from beginning to end.  Cyhi da Prince murks this shit like no other.  Big Sean’s 1st part was cool; his 2nd part was sick.  Of course Common did him.  Enjoy.

ps- here’s a couple bars I did type out before I decided to stop lol:

“Dreams stop being dreams when you turn ‘em into goals” ~ Big Sean

riding round new york in my car - melo smoking on lala like im anthony” ~ Cyhi

“Greatness takes time; so, you can’t rush me.’” ~ Cyhi

“Fuck a bitch, I’d rather see this money cum” ~ Cyhi

Big Sean - “Desire, Want & Need Lyrics”

“All I do is eat shit and think about success.

Cause man, I done have enough stress.

But I beat every obstacle they put up.

back against the wall like a stove so I cook up.”

Solid mixtape overall.  Def impressed.  Hit-Boy’s def got potential as a rapper.  And, he’s got arguably the best camp in the game to help him keep developing.  That “Jay-Z interview” track is my fave; shit slaps.  D/L link below.
brokemogul:
Hit-boy, known for his amazing production, notably “N*ggas in Paris” has decided to come out rappin and he’s really good, check out his new mixtape, HITstory.
We knew the beats were gonna be great but what surprised me the most was his ability to tell a story and not come off cheesy or forced.  You get that he’s had a passion for music ever since he was young and over came a lot of obstacles, mostly non-believers, to get where he is.
Some of the things I love about his lyrics remind me of Game in his early albums where he took us through his own experiences using hip hop references to set timelines paralleled with his own life.  Which really lets the listener know, he’s a student of hip hop.
After you digest these lyrics I think you’ll come to the same conclusions with Hit-boy.
Something else to note, Hit-boy is one of the hottest producers in the game right now.  Which means, if he wanted every A-List rapper or singer on a track to bring attention to this project, he could. But, he’s chosen to keep within his own circles.
It tells me he’s really trying to push himself as an artist as organically as possible.
This kid has a story to tell.  Must download.

Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj, Represent Unfortunate Shift In Hip-Hop Values

ISH KNOWS…Hip Hop is Dead.  Did I ruffle all you backpackers & underground Hip Hop fans?  Oh cry me a river.  Hip Hop technically will NEVER be dead b/c the undeground will always be alive & vibrant.  But, you can say that for any damn genre.  Outside of the underground, this genre is essentially fuckin’ dead smfh.  As a Hip Hop head, it’s quite saddening.  Guys like Drake, Wiz, Big Sean all gave me hope when they were coming up that they’d take Hip Hop back to the place it deserved.  But, then, they went pop and cared more for the $.  I’m not hating.  Shit, get your money.  But, from a music point of view, their shit’s diluted.

Ps: Big Sean’s new mixtape ‘Detroit’ gives me hope he might be returning back to his roots vs the BS he gave us on his debut album.
