The crowd shot, especially seeing the Whales & blow up dolls, made watching this vid so worth it. That drop was insane too!

Electronic Music

hits it on the nail here.  Really describes the culture of electro music well!:

“It’s about the experience…Today’s kids know everybody. The era of going to the show and standing in the corner alone, knowing only the band, are done. Via social networks, every kid in your town knows every other one. And these festivals are giant networking parties, where they get to mingle and have a good time. And it’s all about the good time. Sure, the music is an element of the mix, but if you could go to the show with only ten of your best bros, you wouldn’t. Nobody wants a legendary DJ to play for ten people like the oldsters hire Elton and the classic rockers for privates, that’s a dead scene.

They want to be party with thousands, they want to feel the energy, electronic music is not about being exclusive, but inclusive!…what’s important is the scene. The inclusivity referenced above. Now performer and audience are in it together

@Coachella 2013 Live Stream Schedule: Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, Postal Service, & Japandroids

Fans who weren’t fortunate enough to snag a set of passes for this year’s Coachella still have a shot at catching some of SPIN’s 30 Must-See Acts, thanks to a partnership between the festival organizers and YouTube. From April 12 to 14, Coachella’s YouTube page will host a series of live webcasts capturing some of the most anticipated sets scheduled for the first weekend of the annual Indio showcase.

No, you won’t be able to stream all the talent that promoters Goldenvoice have locked down; only attendees will be able to witness live shows from the Stone Roses, Blur, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Earl Sweatshirt, Grizzly Bear, Sigur Rós, Wu-Tang Clan, Grimes, and Kurt Vile, to name a few. But Internet users will be able to see stage work from Phoenix, How to Destroy Angels, SPIN cover stars Tegan and Sara, Vampire Weekend, the Postal Service, Dinosaur Jr., Beach House, New Order, James Blake, Tame Impala, the xx, Bat for Lashes, Japandroids, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Purity Ring, and Divine Fits, among others.

Coachella announces “S. S. Coachella” Music Festival at Sea

So, they’ve decided to extend the brand by creating a cruise akin to Kandy Kruise and Holy Ship! except sticking to more of the indie music that made their festival infamous.  This should be sick.
