DJ Mag Top 100 DJs 2012 - The Results!

Avicii & David Guetta in the Top 5?  Lol.  As producers for sure, but, for DJn, I can’t take that.  But, remember, this list is based off VOTES (i.e., some contend it’s a popularity contest vs. who’s the best talent wise). 

Really happy to see Hardwell come in at #6 b/c I’ve been saying that he’s been the best DJ in 2012.  Surprised to see Kaskade so low at #30 especially since he had such a successful year with his tour & publicity overall.  I also thought Calvin Harris would be ranked higher based off name recognition since he’s been killin’ the game production wise.

Calvin Harris - “Sweet Nothing” Feat. Florence Welch


ISH KNOWS…gosh, I freakin’ love love loOooooove Florence’s voice.  It’s arguably my fave in the music game right now. As for the production, what more can be said?  Calvin Harris is killing right now.  Just the right amount of dreamy, airy ambiance with a nice hard electro house edge.  Loving this song thoroughly!

NEW MUSIC: Hardwell On Air 071 

ISH KNOWS…Hardwell has def moved into one of the Top 5 DJs right now.  I’ve now been listening & following his On Air mixes since late last year, and, they’ve all been amazing.  Maybe only one was ok, but, all else straight filthy.  This one’s just a straight eargasm from start to finish.  He def went for more filthy, big room house on this one.  Enjoy.

PARIS HILTON WORLD PREMIERE AS A DJ IN BRASIL

ISH KNOWS…this is hilarious.  The girl literally went on stage and needed a technician to help her DJ smfh.  #EpicFAIL

The biggest problem w/ Paris is she has to dispel the notion that she’s a talentless, attention whore.  Unfortunately, this clip does nothing to take away from that stigma.  I can’t remember the last DJ to plaster their fuckin’ face on the big screens behind themselves and sit up on stage being a diva caring more about her glittery outfit than the artistic craft. SMFH.
